Days like this are the reason why I absolutely adore what I do.
We met Tilly & James and their family at Tilly’s Father’s Farm in Umberleigh which is where the wedding day will be spent. What a treasure trove. The place is gloriously speckled with hidden gems and beautiful brickwork and I was in my element. Wedding preparations were in full swing and all the family were busying themselves erecting a marquee and clearing out the barn.
We spent time by the large pond with the dogs enjoying the water before venturing up to visit the horses, one of which will be pulling the cart on the wedding day! After being stung on the head by a bee (to be fair, I decided to rudely invade the bee’s space) we stumbled upon Tilly & James stash of items they are saving for the big day. From flowers to decorations, to dad’s work-in-progress cake stand, to tea party crockery, it was such a privilege to be invited in to peoples preparations for one of the most monumental days of their lives. Tilly’s dad’s work shop literally made me want to wee myself, I was honestly in heaven. It was like the best kind of reclamation yard you can imagine, emanating personal craftsmanship and nostalgia. It was a dream. The day was topped off by getting to meet a very cute elderly dog and Joey the duckling.
So much love and excitement here and I am stoked to be the one shooting this story.
